Cinematic Documentary
For this style of videography, the wedding ceremony and reception are filmed with a "movie style". The design of this video is to tell a story of things in the bride and groom’s lives that led up to this magical day using creative juices, beauty shots, and touching words to make it truly unique. Typically, the shots would include the process of the couple getting ready for the wedding, enjoying the reception, candid moments, and interviews of those closest to the couple. This style is probably the most popular of the two and depending on the videographer you use, the price can vary significantly. With this style, more footage is used and often with the benefit of two cameras. For this reason as well as the need for heavy editing, this is the most expensive but very well worth it.
Realtime
With this style of videography, the camera will begin running as soon as the guests start filtering into the church, continuing to run until the wedding reception is complete. The final product is a straightforward video that has minimal editing, not stops, and no interruptions. This type of videography is more simplistic and doesn't require too much editing. Cameras are positioned on tripods the entire time of the ceremony and the final DVD will have chapter markers every 5 minutes or so you can skip through to a certain part if you like.
